hi! i'm danielle, and i appreciate that you're taking time to visit mitten paws, my little lifestyle blog. i began mitten paws in november 2010 because i craved a creative and recreational outlet. here you'll find outfits, recipes, rants, raves, love, sarcasm and whatever else i come up with.
i am currently 26. in july 2010 i left the suburbs of illinois to make the journey of a lifetime across the u.s. with the love of my life, gerald, to call portland, oregon our new home. moving west was a major life goal of mine, and i couldn't be happier about the decision, despite certain challenges.
i graduated from the university of kansas in december 2008 with a bachelor's of science in journalism (emphasis on strategic communication) and a bachelor's of arts in political science (emphasis on women's studies). mostly though, i feel like i earned a degree in college radio. i have endless love for 90.7 kjhk.
as of october 2010, my day job is working for a fantastic independent music distributor as a customer service representative. working in the realm of independent music makes me feel very lucky. up until this position i had been a restaurant server, a job for which i feel more love than hate.
i love living with my boyfriend. gerald is mostly too good to be true. he loves me real good, and does the dishes with a smile. what more could a girl really ask for? he and i met on the internet, a story worthy of telling some day.
I love cooking for people, thrifting, games, discovering good music, and road trips with ger. dogs and most animals melt my heart, and i look forward to being a pet owner when the time is right. i cry and laugh in equal measure. i'm an overdramatic virgo with a sharp-tongue and child-like charm. i don't take myself too seriously, but the same does not apply for everything else. i tend not to like capitalization, conservatism or when people play words they cannot define in scrabble (words with friends).
i appreciate anyone who stops by and pays attention to this blog. it's pretty sweet.
